First time in Hiroshima: 6-hour, 1-day and 2-day routes
Choose a route by the time you actually have. Each plan includes transport logic, rough budget, who it fits and what to skip when you are tired.
Pick your route
| Route | Best for | Time | Budget guide | Map |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6-hour city core | First arrival, short stay, low stress | Peace Memorial Park, museum if time, Hondori, okonomiyaki dinner | Transport + museum + meal: check current fares and menu prices | Open map |
| 1-day classic | Most first-time visitors | Morning Peace Park, lunch downtown, afternoon Miyajima or Shukkeien, dinner near Hondori | Local transport + ferry if Miyajima + meals | Open map |
| 2-day relaxed | Visitors who dislike rushing | Day 1 city core and food. Day 2 Miyajima, ropeway or slow island walk, return before late evening. | More transport and meals; hotel location matters | Open map |
Decision notes
If it rains
Keep Peace Memorial Museum, Hondori arcades, indoor food and cafes. Avoid overloading Miyajima if wind or ferry conditions look poor.
If you arrive late
Do not start Miyajima. Stay around Hiroshima Station, Hatchobori or Hondori, check last trains and plan a short dinner route.
If you travel with children or older family
Reduce transfers, add cafe/rest time, and avoid turning Peace Park plus Miyajima into one crowded day.
